Democracy does not die in darkness. It, simply, does not exist there. 

The Republic is founded on this belief. Without availability of information crucial for decision making, the people from whom the state derived the power to govern, cannot participate in the governance. 

There may, therefore, be a democracy in name— without public access to reliable and accurate information— but not in fact. We serve you through public interest journalism.
